WELCOME THE IMPOSSIBLE

LEARN ABOUT OUR DREAM TO ACQUIRE A MORE PERMANENT HOME FOR RHC!

After 13 years of being a mobile church, calling 4 different Sunday locations home, it's time to launch an exciting new chapter in the history of RHC! God has given us a dream to acquire a more permanent space that will enhance everything that is great about Redemption Hill. To find the right property at the right time for the right price, feels impossible, but we serve the God of the Impossible!

THE DREAM

OUR VISION OF A NEW SPACE

We envision a new space that will serve as a 24/7 house of worship & prayer, a visible spiritual home for our diverse city, a space that frees us to engage more people and execute less logistics, and accelerate our growth as a church on the move.

We usually think about what we want to do with “our money,” but it really is not ours.  We are responsible for managing it, but everything we have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1).

God Owns Everything

The Bible teaches us how true, abundant living is not about accumulating an abundance of things. Instead, it is about living for God’s glory and being “rich toward God.” (Luke 12:13-21).

True Abundant Living

Jesus taught often about money. He said it can become an idol that competes for our worship. His wisdom challenges us to prioritize our standard of giving over our standard of living. (Matthew 6:21-24).

THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF GIVING

Through prayerful consideration and professional consultation, we have set a goal of raising $800,000 through our collective generosity in our Welcome the Impossible campaign. As each one of us is led by God to give as generously as possible, we are confident we will exceed our goal!

Making a Faith Commitment

We’re asking everyone to participate in Welcome the Impossible through prayer & making a faith commitment, the amount you commit to give over the next 24 months above and beyond your regular giving to RHC.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Donations made to the “Welcome the Impossible” Capital Campaign are tax-deductible gifts. And, although we are asking for people to make a two year faith commitment to the campaign, the campaign will officially take place over the course of three calendar tax years. Financial gifts can begin as early as March 2025 and will continue until March 2027. Spreading your two year commitment over three calendar tax years may give you a tax advantage. While many participants in the campaign are likely to give monthly over the duration of the 24 months, some may find it advantageous to adopt a different pattern. Of course, we do recommend discussing your giving strategy with your preferred tax professionals.

  • Many givers have shared with us that their ability to participate is greater if the campaign window is longer. This can work well, because this commitment process gives us a huge benefit when it comes to practicing long-term planning for the church’s future. When households indicate what they will give early in our campaign or over a 24 month period, we can make cash flow decisions as well as interact with lending institutions using commitments as a projection of future income.

  • Please do not reduce your regular giving and harm our ability to fund ongoing operations. Redemption Hill Church has a mission-focused Financial Ministry Plan (aka - “Operational Budget”) developed annually that depends on strong, faithful, & regular giving offered in worship to God by our congregation. Our “Welcome the Impossible” Capital campaign giving is “over and above” (additional) giving collected throughout the 24 month period.

  • First and foremost, pray! This is not a fundraiser. It is a journey of faith. As you pray, ask God for an extra dose of uncommon faith. Consider adding fasting to your prayers, as you seek God’s guidance on what amount you should give. Discuss your decision making with others. If you’re married, certainly plan with your spouse. If you have children, bring them into the joy of the conversation too. Don’t neglect sharing your thoughts with your friends as you weigh your godly options. As you make your decision, be reminded of the guiding questions provided throughout the campaign to move forward with increasing, Spirit-led generosity: What can I reasonably give? What can I reprioritize to give sacrificially? What can I give through bold faith and reliance on God?

  • In our dynamic and rapidly changing real estate market, we assessed our core needs and worked with a commercial realtor to estimate possible cost estimates to purchase or lease. Then, we engaged with a nationally respected Generosity Consultant, Greg Gibbs, who conducted a series of confidential interviews and surveys to assess our financial capacity as a young, growing church. Additionally, we considered the trajectory of our financial history and growing momentum. Arriving at our $800,000 target for a “down deposit” over the commitment period seemed both prudent and faith-stretching.

  • Our search, based on our unique space requirements as a young and growing congregation has been active and ongoing. Diligence and discernment have been our twin watch-words as we have moved from sensing God’s timing to designating 2024 as our year to “Prepare to Pounce". That diligence and discernment will continue as we move into the next phase of our journey together. While we gather the funds necessary to acquire more permanent space for our future, we will continue to seek possibilities, refine our expertise, and gather funds from other sources so we can act when God provides. While it is difficult to guarantee an acquisition date, our posture will be to lean forward, remove barriers, and hope expectantly.

  • RHC’s Financial Secretary keeps accurate records of all things related to donations and will distinguish between your giving to the General Fund, or Regular Offering, and the “over-and- above” giving you share for our “Welcome the Impossible” Capital Campaign. All who declare Faith-Commitments will receive “Giving Statements” at least three times per year (Jan, Jun, Dec) where you can see an update on what you’ve given and compare it to your original commitment. In addition, all donors have immediate access to their personal “Giving Statements” anytime they wish to check through our Church Management System - CCB. If you are not sure how to do this, simply request assistance at info@redemptionhillchurch.com and a team member will contact you and give assistance. Our posture, as always, will be to provide you easy access to your record of progress without any sense of stress or compulsion.
